Our Story Center

Welcome journalists and adventurists alike. Please take a moment, sit back, and enjoy our media center. We like to think of it as a story center. We hope that you will share in our excitement for adventure, the for-purpose business model, and the outdoors.

We would like to be the first to thank you sincerely for taking the time to read our stories and to hopefully write some of your own. No, we are not ego maniacs, rather we just love to tell our story and to spread our message of a new business model that we believe will change the world.

If you have any further questions, or would like to meet up or talk in person please feel free to contact us at anytime.

Welcome Journalists and Adventurists,

First off, I would like to personally thank each and everyone of you. For me, for Unreasonable, and for all of us over here, we would like to extend our appreciation towards you. You make our dreams come true by spreading our stories and our purpose.

With that said, I would like to announce our first year in operations! The year of 2009 is a glorious one for all of us at Unreasonable and for our partners in the industry. Three years ago the idea of Unreasonable Adventures was born. Sitting in the freshman dorm rooms of Baker Hall at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Unreasonable Adventures was realized. Like most college students, we wanted to climb the highest mountains, glide over valleys of green and above mountain tops, taste the freshest rapids, and float upon untouched powder. We wanted to find adventure.

But like any newborn, our first steps were small, stuttered, and shuffled. When we entered the world of adventure we didn't know where to go or how to get there. It was then that we realized there are two big issues facing the adventurous lifestyle: accessibility and affordability. We wanted to hang glide, ice climb, kayak, mountaineer, surf, and live the adventurous lifestyle but we were restricted. It would take us days to find an adventure outfitter and once we did, we couldn't afford the high prices as lowly college students. We had hit a barrier, so we searched for a latter.

We began by throwing mud against the wall and seeing what would stick. We started our first company, Colorado Sports Society (CSS). I was 19 years old. The basic idea behind CSS was simple, create a membership card in which members would receive the best deals in the industry on adventure sports. After traveling around Colorado and meeting with adventure outfitters and owners, we knew that we had a bigger calling than just a discount card. Needless to say, CSS was a bust and Unreasonable Adventures was born out of it.

Now, after 4 years of exploring and listening, cycling throughout the Rocky Mountains and from Canada to Mexico, and partnering with the finest outfitters and guides in the world, we are confident today that we are the only organization in the world of our kind. We are a true home for adventure sports. Our goal is to connect the traditionally fragmented adventure sports market and create a central community for all adventurists around the world. Our mission is simple: conservation through adventure. No, this is not a gimmick, it is our purpose. For us, Unreasonable Adventures is more than just another company: it is a Lifestyle.

Our story is bold, purposeful, young, exciting, and filled with adventure. For more information please feel free to contact us at anytime. We love nothing more than sitting down for a cup of tea or a pint of beer, sharing stories, and getting to know new faces. And if you want to hit the slopes, go climbing, fly down a single track, or share stories on top of a mountain, you are talking to the right people.

Cheers,
